| Hello, Ohio DeMolay!!!

Brethren, we've got big things coming up for Ohio DeMolay this month. I'm sure you've all heard of the Statewide Initiation and Olympics. We're going to be having a great time for only $15 for brethren arriving on Friday and $10 for brethren and guests on Saturday. That's a deal you can't beat.
Also coming up this month is the celebration of 200 years of Freemasonry in the state of Ohio. This is a huge thing for DeMolay as the support given to us by Ohio Freemasonry is what keeps us going. I hope to see DeMolays from each chapter in Ohio representing us and showing support for our Masonic family. With the amount of support Freemasonry gives Ohio DeMolay, we owe it to them to all join them in this huge celebration.
And don't forget! Conclave is just around the corner. Applications are online and we've got an action packed weekend planned. Visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame, an Akron Aeros baseball game, and staying in the swanky McKinley Grand Hotel. We've got two big months ahead of us brothers, let's make them count.

For the Initiation on Friday night, the dress code will be shirt and tie (no jackets) for those on the degree team, and business casual for DeMolays and candidates.
$15 for DeMolays and Advisors for Friday night
Includes Friday pizza and lodging, plus Saturday breakfast and lunch.
$10 for guests joining on Saturday
Price includes all Olympic events plus lunch.

10:00pm: Initiatory Degree 10:15am: Opening Ceremonies
Midnight: DeMolay Degree 1:00pm: Lunch
1:00am: Pizza ~5:00pm: Closing Ceremonies
2:00am: Lights out ~6:00pm: Cabin clean-up
Olympic Events include: Cornhole tournament, 5-legged race, hula hoop contest, egg relay, frisbee toss, marshghetti tower, bubble gum pie, water balloon toss, t-shirt relay, water balloon launch, and Jello Snarf
What you should bring: Sleeping bag, pillow, towel, toiletries, clothes that can get dirty, swimsuit, snacks, beverages, sunscreen
What you should not bring: Televisions, video game systems |

What: DeMolay will be marching in Ohio Freemasonry's Bicentennial parade
It looks like the DeMolay delegation will have somewhere between 50-60 DeMolays and advisors, proudly marching and showing our support for our Masonic friends. You'll be marching alongside your Chapter members and advisors. Bring your Chapter Banner, and designate one of the members to carry it.
According to the communication from the Grand Lodge, you should park at the Ohio Village, 1982 Velma Avenue, Columbus. Buses will be available starting at 8:30 a.m. to shuttle everyone downtown and back to the Ohio Village for the picnic. The Ohio Village sits just west of the 17th Avenue exit off I-71, between the Ohio State Fairgrounds to the south and Crew Stadium to the north.
As we will be arriving at different times, we will assemble downtown, so please go ahead and board a shuttle bus downtown once you've arrived and parked. We'll have our DeMolay banners out, so look for them.
The parade will begin at 10am. The cornerstone ceremony will take place sometime between 11am and 11:30am, and the picnic will follow immediately after this ceremony.
Advisors should be in Lodge attire. DeMolays should wear a suit or be business casual, whatever your Chapter decides.

Conclave 2008
July 17 - 20, Akron/Canton
Due to your Governor by June 15th
This year's Conclave will be like no other in our history. Friday morning we'll head to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Friday night is "DeMolay Night" with the Akron Aeros. We'll be presenting all 50 state flags and throwing out the first pitch to start the game. It's going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

MARK AUGUST 2nd ON YOUR CALENDAR.
This will be the Ohio DeMolay Hall of Fame Induction for past Ohio Executive Officer Dad Gene Loose and a reception for the Grand Master of DeMolay International who at that time will be past Ohio Executive Officer Dad C. Michael Watson. The event is being held at Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark. Registration forms will be available soon.
The Reception will cost $30 for adults and $20 for Active DeMolays. | |
